Have only read some of the book so far, but it deals solidly with the science. Hector is brave enough to challenge the dogma.
This book, which I haven't fully read yet, I admit, is truly a treasure trove of various kind of measurements during solar eclipses, etc. with pendulums, gravimeters, etc. Some critical analyses, others not so critical and some history about the work of Allais and others. I have been interested in this stuff since a few decades, great that it is now brought together, including work I have never heard of. Also some chapters with theory, which I guess is rather controversial (but most of these guys seem to be from respectable universities). And an unpublished article by Saxl and Allen, that is (almost) like discovering an unpublished symphony of Beethoven!
I appreciate Muneras's willingness to follow data even when it departs from the consensus of the Political Correctness (standard model) crowd. His analysis of the Michelson-Morley fiasco deserved Nobel Prize consideration. My only beef of this effort was I thought he could have been a little more adamant in his conclusions. Forget the soft pedal. . . .Read it for sure.
Some scientific views on a new field of research, interesting, but not totally convincing. In particular geophysics is kept a little too much out the research.
